The UIB's language promotion and welcome initiatives have been designed to enhance the university experience for both local and international students. The activities are based on two key goals:

• Boosting language learning as an essential element of cultural heritage, especially Catalan as the native language in the Balearic Islands
• Boosting foreign language learning for local students.
