The University of the Balearic Islands hosts a language stay every summer for students taking Catalan at overseas universities and centres that are part of the Ramon Llull Institute network. The programme welcomes around 30 students from different parts of the world and is a great option for anyone who would like to use their summer break to improve their Catalan language skills and get to know the city of Palma on the island of Majorca.
The Summer Language Stays in the Balearic Islands include Catalan language and culture courses, as well as a programme of cultural and leisure activities for visitors to the island.

International Conferences for Catalan Lecturers and Teachers
The University of the Balearic Islands hosted the 2018 and 2019 International Conferences for Catalan Lecturers and Teachers. The annual event is organised by the Ramon Llull Institute as part of its lifelong training programme for lecturers in the overseas Catalan studies network (XarxaLlull). The network comprises approximately 130 universities around the globe that offer Catalan training courses and programmes.
Conference participants get the chance to pick up teaching and learning methodologies for Teaching Catalan as a Foreign Language, including cultural aspects and insights. In this vein, the conferences are a hub for Catalan teachers to exchange experiences, engage in debates and reflect on challenges.
